DUNCANVILLE, Texas — Dash cam video captured an officer’s split-second decision during his response to a 911 call about a group of teens carrying a gun.

Fox 4 reports 16-year veteran Officer Ben Luna arrived to the scene Saturday and witnessed one of the three teens moving something near his waistband.

Luna immediately exited his patrol car, drew his firearm and ordered the teens to get on the ground, but the group was slow to comply.

“They’re fixing to either pull the gun out or they don’t really care what…what I’m saying,” Luna told Fox 4.

The teen was carrying what would later be discovered to be a BB gun designed to resemble a Beretta 92F. After moving toward the officer with his hands in the air, the teen followed repeated instructions from the officer and went to the ground.

“This could have been bad for that young kid,” Luna told Fox 4. “I’m so happy that I didn’t have to pull the trigger.”
