MIAMI — In an attempt to reduce car break-ins, the Miami Police Department has introduced a new anti-theft system named K.R.A.P.P.Y.
Officer Nick explained in a video posted on the department’s Facebook that K.R.A.P.P.Y. stands for Keeping Robbers Away & Protecting Property (with a) Yeti.
“Every time you step away from your vehicle, you simply leave your Yeti behind,” Nick said. “Each Yeti is trained to prevent and apprehend any would-be thieves.”
The PD does admit the simple and effective system has a few flaws - for one, the Yeti in the video is the only known Yeti in the world. Until the system fully rolls out, the department recommends citizens lock their car doors and take their valuables when leaving a vehicle.
