LONDON — A group of children from a small town outside of London helped police find a pair of burglary suspects with an innovative technique, FOX 59 reported.
The Capel residents were gathered for an Easter egg hunt in a field on March 25 when an intrusion in a nearby building garnered a strong police presence. The children saw two men running across the field and saw a police helicopter overhead.
Immediately, the children dropped on the ground in the shape of an arrow to help direct police in the right direction.
“I’m sure the last thing the group of daring Capel residents expected when they set out on Friday afternoon was to abandon their Easter egg hunt to assist us in a police search but the initiative they demonstrated proved to be invaluable,” Sgt. Paul Sochon told the publication.
Two suspects were arrested. They are out on bail until May 13 while the investigation into a string of burglaries in the area continues.
