ROANOKE, Va. - A Roanoke police officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries Tuesday after he was involved in a three-vehicle wreck, a police spokeswoman said.

Officer J.T. Presson was responding to a call for service when the wreck happened about 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and Orange Avenue Northwest, said police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.

Presson’s police cruiser had collided with another vehicle, which hit a third vehicle, Johnson said.

The drivers of the two other vehicles and one passenger were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Johnson said. Their names were not released.

Johnson could not say if Presson had activated his siren and emergency lights because that information is part of an ongoing investigation, she said.
