A video was posted by CNN Thursday that shows the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old Mexican boy by a U.S. Border Patrol agent. The incident took place under a bridge in El Paso, Texas that connects the U.S. and Mexico. Tensions have flared in the wake of the incident, with Mexican president Felipe Calderon saying there is a “disproportionate use of force on the part of U.S. authorities on the border with Mexico.”

The Border Patrol agent said he was defending himself and his colleagues when he fatally shot the boy. He said big stones were being thrown at the agents while they were trying to detain four illegal immigrants on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.

In the video you can see the four people running under a bridge, one of whom gets detained by a U.S. border agent on a bicycle. The agent then points what appears to be a gun toward the Mexican side of the border. According to CNN, you can hear the people in the video speaking in Spanish, saying “They’re throwing rocks,” and then “They hit him … they hit him.”

The video was taken from the Mexican side of the border on a cell phone camera.
