TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee Police Department’s newest member to join the ranks is an 8-month-old bulldog.
Captain Mugshot, or ‘Mugz,’ was a stray at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) shelter before being adopted by the PD last week, WLOX reports.
Mugz will serve as a “Community Outreach Canine” at various events and is currently undergoing training.
“Not only did all of the staff at HSTT see the uniqueness of this dog, but so did Truckee PD,” the department wrote on Facebook. “That’s why it didn’t take long for Truckee PD to decide it was time to bring a dog back into the local police department.”
