BETHESDA, Md. — Charges have been filed against a Florida man for what police say was a plan to ignite fireworks from his Jeep on the National Mall in Washington.
Twenty-seven-year-old Glenn Neff was taken into custody Monday after officers found him sitting in a car in an isolated park in Bethesda, according to the Washington Post. A large amount of fireworks – along with a turret and tubes to launch them – were found inside the vehicle.
Neff is charged with three felony charges: possession of a destructive device, transport of a destructive device and manufacture of a destructive device – each carrying a penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
Bond has been set at $2,000,000 dollars.
