Cheap way to safely transport needles

Ever run into a perp who carries used syringes in his or her pocket or car? This presents the problem of how to safely transport the needles from the traffic stop (or other point of contact) to a safe disposal container at the station. If you work for a major agency, your car is probably better equipped to handle this and any other biohazard situation. But for the rest of us, here’s a simple tip for those needles: An empty 20-ounce plastic soda bottle with a screw-on cap makes an excellent temporary transport device that a plastic evidence bag – for obvious reasons – can’t provide.
