HOUSTON — A man who stole a police cruiser and drove to his ex-wife’s house is behind bars.
According to KTRK, Brandon Ramiro Cantu allegedly attempted to break into a convenience store Tuesday night, but the door was locked. When police responded to investigate, Cantu walked up to a running, unlocked police SUV and drove off.
He drove to the house of Leslie Elias, his ex-wife, and assaulted her and another man at her home. Elias told the news station he “busted in her door” and assaulted her and a man she asked to stay over to protect her from Cantu.
“He grabbed a knife and he was hitting me all in my face here and swinging and trying to stab me,” she said. “He kept hitting me and said he was going to kill me, that he came to kill me.”
