ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman spent Tuesday walking in front of Orlando police headquarters holding a sign apologizing for assaulting a police officer. The woman agreed to the unusual punishment as part of a no contest plea on two misdemeanor charges.

The woman arrived at 2:00pm to give the four-hour public apology. Alexandra Espinosa-Amaya was not picketing and not protesting; she’s being taught a lesson.

“I think it’s a bit dumb. Don’t you think?” she told Eyewitness News.

The sign she carried is part of the 24-year-old woman’s punishment, a public apology for pushing an Orlando police officer.

“I don’t think it was very fair,” Espinosa-Amaya told Eyewitness News.
