FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A passing car sprayed an officer’s cruiser with bullets as he was conducting an unrelated traffic stop WTVD reported.
The officer had pulled a car over for a minor violation and was writing up a ticket when he heard multiple gunshots strike his vehicle.
Neither the officer or the motorist were hurt during the incident.
Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock called the act cowardly.
“The citizens of our great community will not stand by while someone with ill will against law enforcement seeks to induce harm against the men and women who are sworn to protect this great community”, Medlock said in a statement to WTVD.
