BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Police Department’s social media has been blowing up with comments about a unique handgun officers seized during a traffic stop.
According to WJZ, police pulled over Keith Gladden, 36, Wednesday and discovered drugs and a loaded handgun in the vehicle.
Gladden is a repeat offender and was in illegal possession of the gun. He was taken into custody and booked at a local facility.
Gladden’s firearm looks old-fashioned and has duct tape on the grip. Police thought nothing of it and posted a photo of the gun on their social media accounts. Little did they know the post would receive 45,000 comments and over 130,000 shares.

Some people questioned if the suspect was “attempting to assassinate Lincoln.” Others asked if there was a new sheriff in town.
The department joined in on the fun and wrote that they would “ensure we safeguard this firearm and ensure the safety of all in the village of Lord Baltimore.”
“Whilst this young lad possessed this weapon illegally, his punishment shall not include that of public stoning nor shaming,” the department wrote on Facebook. “He therefore shall be recommended as a candidate for reenactment just up the road in Gettysburg.”
