SHOT Show 2012: BladeTech Eclipse and Partial Eclipse holsters

Hello from SHOT 2012! I’ve been on the floor only a couple of hours, and already my computer doesn’t work and I dropped my camera... Good thing I have two iPhones!

Undaunted, I had an opportunity today to talk to Tyler at BladeTech. Actually, I was looking for their new training device that inserts in an AR-15, which replaces the bolt. A bright yellow barrel plug is attached to a thin bungee cord, which allows the user to cycle the bolt and operate all other aspects of the carbine safely — all while letting others know of its inert status — which is perfect for active shooter training. When everyone is hauling all their battle-rattle through the training scenarios, it’s great to have a device that guarantees safety during training.

I could have been satisfied just looking at this product but Tyler showed me the new Eclipse and Partial Eclipse series of holsters. These are mid-weight Kydex molded holsters that easily convert from OWB to IWB simply by changing the belt loops. When an officer goes from a street-crimes unit to detectives, it means he will not have to invest in another holster. For $12.99 MSRP on the conversion, which makes some models cant-adjustable, this is a bargain.

Typical for this kind of product, it has a good piece of material near the body for all day carry.

For MOLLE fans like me, one must check out BladeTech’s new clips. I can’t stand spending all day weaving MOLLE and I think BladeTech has come up with a solution. BladeTech is hot this year and their new tag line, “Carry Confident” is appropriate.
