MEDFORD, N.Y. — Police arrested a suspect Wednesday who allegedly shot and killed four people during the robbery of a New York pharmacy.
Officials took David Laffer, 33, into custody after picking him up at a home near the scene of the shooting.
Laffer allegedly walked into the pharmacy on Sunday morning, stole a backpack full of prescription painkillers, and shot four victims “execution style,” according to ABC News.
Surveillance video shows the suspect leaving calmly after he committed his crime. Police Commissioner Richard Dormer called it “one of the most heinous, brutal crimes we have ever encountered.”
Police are trying to match Laffer’s fingerprints against any prints at the crime scene and a search warrant has been issued for his home.
