EDMONTON, ALBERTA, Canada — Recently released surveillance footage captured a woman’s failed attempt to escape as her boyfriend fought with police.

On June 25, police in Alberta, Canada were called after the owners of a convenience store encountered a couple who tried to use stolen credit cards, the Washington Post reported. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer responded and can be seen on video speaking with the couple, identified as 28-year-old Richard Pariseau and 29-year-old Brittany Burke.

Pariseau can be seen shoving Burke toward the officer before attempting to run for the door. The suspect eventually gets into a struggle with the officer and one of the store owners.

Burke meanwhile goes into a backroom and climbs a ladder, over some shelves and ascends into an unknown place, disappearing from frame.

After Pariseau is subdued by the officer, the video turns to an empty section of the store, where Burke is seen crashing through the store’s ceiling.

The couple was arrested and faces several charges, including obstructing a police officer, assaulting a police officer and mischief. Police said no one was injured during the incident.
