CENTERTON, Ark. — Several officers stepped up to help a local disabled resident get in the Christmas spirit.
Centerton Mayor Bill Edwards wrote on Facebook that he received a call on Dec. 5 from a disabled resident in need of assistance in hanging Christmas lights.
According to Fox5, the resident told Edwards that Christmas is important and “I only have one eave that needs a sliding aluminum ladder, which I do not have.”
Edwards posted the call for help on Facebook, and several Centerton police officers responded, more than happy to help.
“Some days it’s not just about writing tickets and taking people to jail,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Community policing is a major need in this day and age, and we believe even the smallest acts can leave lasting effects!”
