DULUTH, Minn. — Moments before he was sworn in as a Duluth police officer Jan. 27, Manuel Matos needed to get something off his chest -- literally.
According to WDIO, it’s a police tradition to have someone close pin the new officer’s badge on. Matos brought his girlfriend, Stephany, to the front and pulled the ring out from behind his tie pin.
He proposed, and Stephany said yes.
“I’m looking forward to being in Duluth and spending time with my future wife,” Matos told KBJR6. “That’s what is most important right now.”
