NOTTINGHAM, England — An intruder entered a woman’s driveway, erratically waved around gardening shears he stole from her property and allegedly threatened to chop off a police dog’s head with them before he was subdued with a TASER — and it was all captured on surveillance video.
On the video of the October 14 incident, Jane Green, 59, is seen rushing past a crazed man later identified as Jamie Swann, 28, to open her gate for police to enter, according to the Metro.
Swann appeared with the shears in his hands and climbed onto Green’s vehicle after she fled back into the house.
“The man was totally unknown to me, and he was shouting about guns and waving around my garden shears which he picked up,” Green told the Nottingham Post. “I didn’t want to be locked in with him, so I ran past him to unlock it for the police.”
After nearly seven minutes of failed negotiating, police deployed a TASER and rushed at Swann to arrest him.
Swann plead guilty to causing criminal damage and using threatening words and behavior to cause alarm or distress. He was sentenced to seven months, plus another 18 months for breaching a previous sentence for theft and burglary, according to the Metro.
