MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Southaven man who allegedly threatened to kill police officers last week was arrested at a Memphis apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

Josef Schnabl, 32, had been on the run for nearly a week since police issued warrants for his arrest after he and his roommate allegedly called Southaven dispatchers repeatedly and threatened to kill and “blow up” police officers.

His roommate, Calvin Holloway, 20, was taken into custody while he was in court last Wednesday on unrelated criminal charges. Holloway was charged with retaliation against a public servant or witness for making the threats. He remains in the DeSoto County jail without bond.

Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said Schnabl was arrested without incident at the Cambridge Court apartments on Winchester at Interstate 55 about 3:30 p.m.

“Thanks to great detective work and cooperation between local and state agencies, the suspect was taken into custody,” Long said.

Long said his officers and other local law enforcement are members of the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Task Force, and they all worked together to find Schnabl.

Schnabl was taken to the Shelby County jail and should be back in DeSoto county next week if he doesn’t fight extradition, according to Long.
