BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — He was a beloved member of the Bartlesville Police Department. Now officers are trying to figure out what happened to one of their K-9 officers, named Cooper. He died suddenly last week. But was his death accidental or the result of foul play? Fox 23’s Douglas Clark has the story.
“He was another officer. It’s no different than if someone had killed a human officer of mine. He was an officer, a friend, and my partner,” says Bartlesville Officer Troy Newell.
He still becomes emotional when talking about his former partner of two years, Cooper. Not only did the two track down drugs and felony suspects while on the job, they also went home together at the end of the day.
