LAFAYETTE, N.Y. — A constable with the Vienna Town Constable’s Office has died after suffering a medical emergency during training, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

Constable Shane Eyre, a three-year veteran of the Vienna Town Constable’s Office, died after suffering a heart attack during a Shotgun Operator Course on Sept. 30, according to the page.

At around 4:00 p.m., Eyre, 29, collapsed during the training. Life-saving measures were administered, and he was transported to a hospital. Despite efforts, Eyre could not be resuscitated.

Eyre is survived by his mother, father, two brothers and sister, according to the page.
