Funds set up for N.Y. troopers shot

The Associated Press

ALBANY, NY- Separate trust funds have been established in response to last week’s shooting of two state troopers who took part in the search for fugitive Ralph “Bucky” Phillips.

The Trooper Foundation in Albany has set up a trust fund to benefit the wife and son of Joseph Longobardo, who died over the weekend. Another fund has been named in honor of Trooper Donald Baker, Jr. Donations to Baker’s fund will benefit the New York State Police Mobile Response Team. Both were assigned to that unit when they were shot.

Checks should be made payable to the New York State Trooper Foundation and sent to 3 Airport Park Boulevard, Latham, NY 12110. Donors should mention in the memo section of the check to which funds their checks should be deposited.
