HOUSTON, Tex.— A University of Houston Downtown police officer was struck by a bullet while sitting in a restaurant after someone fired multiple rounds near there — possibly while driving on a freeway, Houston police said Sunday.
The officer, who was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, was struck while he was eating at the restaurant at about 1:10 a.m. on Sunday.
Houston police are asking for help in identifying a suspect wanted in the attempted capital murder of a police officer. The suspect is believed to have been traveling in a silver or gray four-door 1993-1994 Isuzu Rodeo with tinted windows.
