YUKON, Okla. — A woman was shot and killed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers at a Yukon apartment complex after a more than five-hour standoff with police.
The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
OHP Captain Chris West says authorities had tried to contact the woman by using a bomb squad robot Monday night.
He says the woman came out of the apartment about 11:30 and fired several shots. He says officers returned fire and killed her.
Yukon police say the standoff began about 6:15 when bail bondsmen or bounty hunters told police the woman shot at them as they tried to arrest her for failing to appear in Oklahoma County District Court Wednesday morning.
