PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A scuffle between two men ended with one man wounded in his right leg and the other in handcuffs, after a police-involved shooting in North Philadelphia last night.
The two had been arguing inside Bob’s Crab House of Crab, on 30th Street near Chalmers, when one of them left the eatery to get a gun, said spokesperson Lt. Frank Vanore.
The other man followed him outside and attempted to wrestle the gun away from him.
During the scrap, the gun, a semi-automatic of some type, fired at least once, Vanore said.
A police officer arrived and ordered the duo to drop the weapon. The men did not respond and she fired two shots at one of the men.
The other was apprehended by other cops who arrived at the scene.
The man who was shot was taken to Temple University Hospital and was in stable condition.
Police are not sure if the bullet that struck the man was fired by the officer or during the scuffle. Police Internal Affairs and Northwest detectives are investigating.
