WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two Prince George’s County Police officers have been suspended pending an investigation into a police-involved shooting in Brentwood last Friday night.

The officers said they thought two people were about to rob a convenience store and then confronted them. One of them allegedly tried to hit an officer and then both suspects took off running.

The officers said when they caught up with one of the suspects, he tried to take the officer’s gun, so the officer fired it.

No one was injured from the officer’s shooting.

On Monday, police say video evidence has surfaced that does not support the original story.

Corporal Donald Taylor, the police officer who discharged his firearm, and a witnessing police officer have been suspended.

The state’s attorney’s office has been asked to amend the charges against Ryan Keith Dorm. He was charged with second-degree assault and attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer.
