OMAHA, Neb. — A man who ran from a vehicle near 48th and Boyd Streets early this morning was shot in the leg after he pointed what a police officer thought was a gun at the officer, police said.
About 12:55 a.m., police said, two officers on patrol tried to stop a Chrysler Cirrus near 48th Street and Fowler Avenue. The driver did not stop and kept driving to 48th and Boyd. A male passenger got out of the vehicle. One of the officers chased the man on foot. The officer shot the man when he pointed what appeared to be a gun at the officer.
The man was taken by rescue squad to Creighton University Medical Center. His injury was not life-threatening, police said.
