DUMFRIES, Va.- Prince William County (website - news) police say an arrest has been made in the officer-involved shooting from last night in the Dumfries area.
Police say Richard Dasilva, 23, fired at the officer at about 11 p.m., and the officer returned fire. The officer was not seriously hurt.
Two schools in the area took extra precautions while the search for the suspect was ongoing. Coles Elementary School and Benton Middle School operated in a shelter in place mode as a precaution.
The officer was treated and released from a hospital with minor injuries.
