DAYTON, Ohio — A quick-responding Dayton police officer saved a man who was trying to hang himself on Sunday, May 25.
Officer Paul Saunders was dispatched to the 1600 block of Kipling Drive on a report of a man trying to commit suicide at about 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, Saunders found the 47-year-old man hanging in his garage, according to police.
Saunders called for backup and held the man up so he could breathe until medics arrived. The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and is expected to recover, according to police.
