Morgan Advanced Materials Composites and Defense Systems has rolled out new rifle plates to protect officers from gunfire.
Weighing 2.1 pounds and measuring 20 millimeters thick, the plates are designed for comfort and have been tested to perform under extreme temperature conditions. Featuring a curved design, the plates cover 720 square centimeters over the torso.
The plates have the capability of stopping 7.62mm rifle ammunition and can withstand up to six shots per plate. The plates meet the NIJ 0101.06 requirements for ballistic protection when used with NIJ Level II body armor.
