FRESNO, Calif. — Thirty-one people were arrested Wednesday in an eight-hour police sweep in southeast Fresno checking on probation and parole compliance among known or suspected gang members and their associates, police reported this morning.
Of the 31 arrests, 15 involved felony suspects, Sgt. Alex Robles said. Those included arrests for probation, parole and narcotics violations.
The rest of the arrests were for misdemeanor offenses, Robles said.
The operation also led to the seizure of three grams of methamphetamine and six grams of marijuana, Robles said.
Officers also issued 35 traffic citations and impounded 11 vehicles.
The sweep was conducted by members of the Southeast District Crime Suppression team, assisted by members of the Bulldog Tactical team, the Neighborhood Traffic Unit and Help Eliminate Auto Theft Unit.
