If you have one of the new LG CU500 cell phones (or a comparable phone with video capabilities), add a Micro SD chip and record video with it. With a 1 Gig SD card set to the highest resolution, I can get 4.25 hours of audio and video recording. I place my phone holster on my gun belt and the camera faces the suspect when I assume a field interview posistion. It’s nice backup to have in court. I’ve even sent it in with an informant and recorded dope buys.
The video files record in 3gp format and a player is readily available on the net (one version is available at http://www.reganam.com/3gp-player.htm). Change the settings so the memory storage goes to the SD card. After recording, you can remove the card, put it in your card reader and burn the video to a CD or DVD. My video files usually go about 2.4 MB for each minute of recording.
