Police forensics experts came to the rescue of a blind author after she wrote the first 26 pages of her debut novel with a pen that didn’t have any ink.
Trish Vickers, 59, was heartbroken when she gave the draft to her son — only for him to tell her the pages were blank.
They took it to her local police station in Charmouth, Dorset, where an officer used infra-red and ultraviolet lights to retrace the etchings on the page during her lunch breaks.
Trish, who lost her sight because of diabetes, now plans to complete “Grannifer’s Legacy”. She said: “I’m so grateful.”
