LOS ANGELES — Helicopter video shows a grand theft auto suspect weaving through police cruisers in reverse during a pursuit. The man was eventually captured, FOX 11 reported.

The full video of the pursuit is nearly 20 minutes long and shows the driver in a blue pickup truck driving the wrong way, speeding and swerving through downtown Los Angeles streets.

Police pursue the driver as he merges onto a highway, only to quickly exit. He would have been stopped by traffic if he had continued to travel on the highway, according to the report.

The suspect can then be seen driving through more traffic, including a red light at a busy intersection, before entering an industrial section of the city with little traffic.

Once the suspect hits a dead end, he brings the car to a stop before reversing around at least six LAPD cruisers and fleeing backward for over half a mile, according to the report.

After turning the car around, the suspect drove back onto the freeway. He exited in the Boyle Heights neighborhood, where he surrendered after a short foot pursuit, according to the report.
