2 Ga. deputies killed in crash, officials say
Local news reported the deputies were leaving the funeral of another LEO who had died of COVID-19

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. — A crash that closed a Georgia interstate for hours claimed the lives of two sheriff’s deputies, according to WRDW.
The crash involved a Fulton County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and a tractor trailer, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office told reporters.
In a later update, WRDW said the deputies were leaving a funeral for a deputy from another agency who had died of COVID-19.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deputies and it’s unclear what led up to the crash. The condition of the other driver remains unknown.
