A North Texas police officer found and rescued a wounded hawk in the road in Carrollton, Texas.

The Carrollton police officer found the hawk sitting in the road with an injured wing on Aug. 12.

According to a Facebook post, the bird refused to leave the road until Officer David Tatom carried the hawk away.

The hawk is now at the The Blackland Prairie Raptor Center.
