Dennis Radar, 59, Confesses to 6 Murders
WICHITA, Kansas: A 31-year manhunt for a serial killer who taunted American police with letters about his crimes has ended.
Police said they finally caught the man who called himself BTK - “Bind them, Torture them, Kill them” - and linked him to at least 10 murders.
The suspect, who was arrested on Saturday, was identified as Dennis Rader, 59, a city worker in nearby Park City, just north of Wichita. Authorities accuse the 59-year-old city employee, the president of a local Lutheran congregation, of killing 10 people between 1974 and 1991.
Investigators said DNA evidence had linked Rader to 10 murders between 1974 and 1991 but would not elaborate further.
