DEA supervisor cycles 85 hours for police charity

The Associated Press

HINSDALE , Illinois- A DEA supervisor claimed an apparent record by riding a stationary bike for 85 hours in an effort to raise charity.

49-year-old George Hood raised $30,000 for the Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), an organization that helps the families of slain police officers, through the long bike ride.

Hood finished the feat by checking into a hospital. After two days of recovery and rest, Hood pronounced himself almost back to normal Monday. He had spun nearly 1,083 miles and burned 27,854 calories.

“I’ve got a few aches in my left leg, but it’s nothing that I can’t handle,” he said.
