Miami (AP) -- A man who allegedly stabbed and killed his wife and father-in-law was fatally shot by a police officer Sunday.
A Miami-Dade Police officer dispatched to a domestic violence dispute found the man standing in his front yard with a knife, said police Detective Nelda Fonticiella.
The man ignored several orders to drop the knife and was shot when he approached the officer, Fonticiella said.
The man’s wife, suffering from numerous stab wounds, staggered toward the officer and collapsed. The husband and wife were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where they both died.
Officers then found the woman’s father stabbed to death inside the home, Fonticiella said.
None of their names were immediately released. Detectives were still investigating the scene late Sunday.
