Spreckels, Calif. -- A Spreckels man was arrested yesterday after Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies used a stun gun to capture him.
Keith Phillips was arrested around noon after a stand-off that lasted more than two hours.
The 40-year-old telemarketer had threatened to kill himself with a butcher knife and prevented his estranged wife and two children from leaving their home.
Early yesterday, Phillips’ wife called police to report that Phillips had violated a restraining order against him.
When deputies arrived around 9-30 a.m., they found him found him with the butcher knife. He let the kids leave early, but kept his wife there for more than two hours.
After Phillips was shot with the stun gun, he was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order and false imprisonment of his wife.
