(MIAMI) – A man already in jail on a drug charge now faces a far more serious accusation – gunning down on railroad security guard in 1999.
Stephen Rex Gardner, 45, working the night shift at a Metrorail station, was shot at close range in what police describe as an execution. Donald Burgess, 21, allegedly wanted Gardner’s gun.
Burgess’s girlfriend, who initially gave him an alibi, has been charged as an accessory after the fact.
