CHICAGO — Kendra Coffey was so outraged when a man snatched her purse on the Near West Side that she tried to climb into his getaway car and was dragged half a block, still clutching the bag while half her body dangled outside the vehicle.
“Thinking back, a part of me was like, ‘That was really crazy,’” said Coffey, 22, who was thrown from the car on Sunday but suffered only minor scratches.
Two suspects, Pierre Seawood, 30, of Prospect Heights, and Gaspare Braccioforte, 29, of Wheeling, were charged Monday with aggravated robbery in Coffey’s purse snatching near Racine Avenue and Roosevelt Road, University of Illinois at Chicago police said. The two were also charged with strong-arm robbery for a separate incident earlier Sunday in the 1900 block of West Taylor Street, a UIC spokesman said.
