WATERBURY, Conn. — A man in Connecticut has been arrested after throwing a parrot at an approaching police officer.
According to NBC Connecticut, Luis Santana, 32, was spotted by police near a scene they were investigating. Shirtless and holding a parrot, Santana threw the bird as officers approached him.
One officer was bitten on the finger.
Santana fled into the woods, but was later apprehended after a homeowner reported a break-in, according to WTNH.
Santana was charged with cruelty to animals, assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, second-degree burglary and interfering with a police officer.
Police returned the bird to its owner, WTNH reported.
