MAHANOY CITY, Pa. — Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide early Christmas in Schuylkill County, police said.
Authorities said they believe that Richard Weikel, 37, fatally shot his wife during an argument, then called an ex-wife to say he could not spend his life in prison.
About 1:20 a.m., the ex-wife alerted police, who arrived to find both Weikel and his wife, Stephanie, 28, dead in the kitchen of their apartment, authorities said.
Investigators found at the scene a handgun and two long rifles, authorities said.
