SILVER SPRING, Md. — At some point while robbing a suburban Maryland home last week, Cody Wilkins decided to charge his phone in the wall.

While rummaging through jewelry during the robbery, the homeowner’s son entered the home, startling the robber. In a panic, Wilkins jumped out the window and fled. The son chased him briefly, but then gave up and went back to the house.

That’s when he found the robber’s phone, still plugged in.

He called the cops, who looked through the phone and called one of the contacts, according to the Washington Post. They reached a woman who indentified herself as Wilkins’ girlfriend. In that conversation, they were able to find out his address.

They went to his home, where they found plenty of evidence, and arrested him. Detectives have since linked him to 10 other break-ins, according to the Post.
