TUCSON, Ariz. A rally that was planned to show that clowns aren’t “psycho killers” has been cancelled after the organizers began receiving threats.

‘Clown Lives Matter,’ which organizer Nikki Sinn called, “a peaceful walk,” was scheduled for Saturday evening, when participants planned to march down Fourth Avenue and show that clowns are friendly.

Sinn cancelled the rally Wednesday night, saying that the event’s Facebook page had been receiving death threats, and the people who posted the threats would be reported to the appropriate authorities.

The rally was planned in response to numerous scary clown sightings reported across the United States, including at the University of Arizona.
