LOS ANGELES — One-hundred and fifteen pound Officer Kristina Tudor will carry an extra 35 pounds while running 26.2 miles for a cause she strongly believes in.
Tudor will sport full tactical gear during the Los Angeles Marathon in order to raise money for the Badge of Heart organization, KTLA reported.
“If you’re going to put yourself through physical torment, I think it’s nice to make it something bigger than yourself,” she told the news site.
Badge of Heart helps officers help victims of crime.
“An officer comes across a needy family or crime victim, we want those officers to have the ability to come to us and hopefully we can provide some assistance to those needy families and crime victims,” Officer Ken Lew with Badge of Heart told ABC 7.
Tudor has set a donation goal of $25,000 through a GoFundMe account.
The marathon is scheduled for Feb. 14.
