DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. — A Pennsylvania officer has died after suffering from a brain hemorrhage, police said.
Sgt. Clinton Cunningham, who worked for the Newtown Township PD, died while off duty, WPVI reports. Police said the sergeant suffered a brain hemorrhage during a workout.
In a Facebook post, the Newtown Township PD said Binningham, 37, was a “highly decorated” member of the department and was voted by his peers as Officer of the Year just last week.
“We ask that you keep his family, including his wife and four kids, in your prayers as they begin the healing process,” the department wrote.
Cunningham served the department for the past five years. He spent the previous nine years with the Philadelphia police force.
