WEST FARGO, N.D. — A department is mourning the death of an officer who suffered a medical emergency while on duty Tuesday afternoon.
Fire and EMS rendered first aid on scene, but the officer, whose name has not yet been released, was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Valley News Live. The police station has been closed temporarily and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office will temporarily cover police calls, according to the report.
“I’m asking that you please be respectful of our department during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of our officer, friends and others in the community,” Police Chief Denis Otterness said during a press conference.
