Photos: Fallen law enforcement officers mourned, remembered during Police Week
A full calendar of events were held from May 11-17; here are scenes from this year's commemorative events
By Police1 Staff
This year, more than 20,000 people gathered at the National Mall during the 34th Candlelight Vigil – marking the largest event held in person in three years. During the annual Police Week ceremony, law enforcement officers, family members of the fallen and supporters from across the country mourned and honored the 619 officers who were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial wall.
A full calendar of events were also held throughout the week from May 11-17, including the National Police K-9 Memorial Service, Police Unity Tour and National Peace Officers Memorial Service. Below are scenes from last week's commemorative events. If you have any photos or videos from Police Week, email us at editor@police1.com and we will add them to our roundup.
This afternoon, @NPK9Foundation, FOP DC Lodge #1, Courageous Tails, and @Unitedforblue co-hosted the Annual K9 Memorial Service.
